3D Printing always had my interest but not at its cost. Fast forward 10 years and you can get started for $200-ish USD (Filament brings added cost). I discovered this when coming across Bambu Lab A1 Mini on my social feed. I was skeptical and dove into YouTube reviews to find the negative. However, I had a hard time finding anything negative about this printer. It’s economical, compact and has several speed options along with adapters to enhance your experience.
Let’s just say, it has taken full control of my personal time as my imagination is the only limitation when it comes to 3D printing. That’s where Makers World comes in clutch with free 3D prints in vast, organized by category with ongoing contests to be a featured print. It’ll help any users get their feet wet with 3D printing and fuel creativeness to express their style.
There’s also AI on the rise which means 3D platforms are rising to a new level. For example, let’s take a look at Meshy.ai, a Text to 3D Generation Tool. It helps you ideate quickly and reduce the cost of 3D production. It also has an Image to 3D Generation Tool, which I’ve found to be super helpful and some stunning results. See the Goku Warrior I’ve made below:
Once a model creation is completed, you have the option to share it with the community, publicly and gain credit’s for doing so. You can also download the model in the various formats:
I’m impressed with the options! I primarily download the .stl and open it in Bambu Studio and allow the software to repair any issues with the model. From there it’s ensuring there is support and brimming for the print and you can obtain results like so:
Acrylic markers were used to color in this guy as PLA Matte – White filament was used to print him. He’s available on Maker World here for your download pleasure.
Since this print, I’ve obtained Bambu’s AMS Lite for Multi-Colored printing capabilities. It does add a bit more space, but the results so far are stunning. More discovery to come as I’m printing something new almost daily!
